How to: Change the color of data markers in a chart.
Solution:
Click on a marker, select the 'Format' menu and select 'Selected Data Series', click the 'Patterns' tab and select the color.
1) Double-click on the chart. (A striped border with handles appears around the chart.)
NOTE: If the chart is on a separate chart sheet in Excel, click the tab for the chart sheet.
2) To change the color for all markers of a data series.
a) Single-click on any marker of the series. (All markers in the selected series appear with a handle on it.)
b) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Selected Data Series...'. (The Format Data Series dialog box appears.)
c) Click the 'Patterns' tab.
d) Select the desired color for the markers from the 'Color' palette of the 'Area' group.

NOTE: The selected color is shown in the 'Sample' box at the lower right corner of the dialog box.
e) Click 'OK'.
3) To change the color for one marker of a specific data point:
a) Single-click on any marker of the related data series. (All markers of the data series are selected.)
b) Single-click on the specific marker to be selected. (Handles appear only around the selected marker.)
c) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Selected Data Point...'. (The Format Data Point dialog box appears.)
d) Select the 'Patterns' tab.
e) Select the desired color for the marker from the 'Color' palette of the 'Area' group.

f) Click 'OK'.
NOTE: The selected color is shown in the 'Sample' box at the lower right corner of the dialog box.
